Testing is a very important step within any cabling installation. Asheridge understand that the time spent testing for shorts, opens or splits after first fix can save many extra man hours at a later stage. The ability to provide a client with a list of tests that have been carried out prior to the installer leaving site will also help to provide a professional image.
Home networks are now all based on a simple mix of cable infrastructures including cat5e, Cat6 , CT100 or RG6 .It is important to know cable run lengths when using the installed cables to ensure that the cable losses will support the signals being passed down them. A simple Verification and Qualification test unit will provide both distance measurements using the integrated TDR as well as testing the cable to ensure that it has the bandwidth to support the required application or signal type.
Asheridge supply a range of test equipment , along with associated training and telephone support, where necessary , to enable installers to easily carry out all of the above functions .The Fluke range of equipment includes basic point to point testers such as the Micro scanner as well as the more in depth CIQ KRQ unit . This unit provides installers with the ability to record results which can be easily down loaded to a PC to produce a printed report that can be passed to the client.
