The HDMI interface was originally designed to provide a simple method to transport point to point full digital Video and audio signals from sources (such as Blu Ray players, SKY satellite set top boxes, Cable TV boxes, HD capable Camcorders ) to Sinks (such as projectors, Plasma, LED and LCD Flat panel screens). Now with consumers demanding multiple sources with multiple screens and with increasing HDMI cable lengths we are pushing the interface way beyond what it was originally designed to do.
The HDMI technology that we have available provides opportunities to installers who understand the way that the interface been designed to operate and enable them to give their customers the best system to meet their needs. It is at the design stage that installers need to be confident in the solutions that they provide to their clients and this is where they must make the right choice.
Asheridge Communications only provide products from approved HDMI vendors and manufacturers. This means that the products that we supply have been tested in accordance with the latest HDMI standards issued by the controlling body HDMI.org. All products including HDMI splitters, switches, cables and extenders will comply with the standard that they have been designed to operate within.
It is important to maintain the signal integrity of the high speed signals used in the HDMI interface as pulse ‘distortion’ caused by stray capacitance and cable damage can cause timing problems leading to loss or distortion of picture.
